I am sure you have heard that Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus. Frequently it is easy to assume that men and women are so absolutely different. Women often grumble that their husbands never pay attention to what they say. Men frequently restate that women are so complicated that they would never be able to understand their behaviour.

Sometimes, I also believe in these set patterns. Nonetheless, deep inside I sincerely believe they are deceptive. And a short time ago I experienced small, seemingly meaningless situation that convinced me even more that men and women are so similar. And I want to present it to you.

A while ago I have spent the whole weekend repairing my favourite shoes and clothes, including my favourite dress and pullover. Nearly all my clothes are highly fragile. In consequence, I should wash them by hand with the purpose that they won’t lose colour.

Moreover, I have spent many hours working on tiny details of my skirts with my sewing machine. Later, I checked if each pair of shoes are quite clean and shiny. I polished them more than three hours! Could you believe in that? Right after my husband returned and noticed that I was still working on my clothes, he couldn’t believe it! He laughed at me that I spend entire day on so boring activity. This is not so strange if you consider that he wouldn’t even iron his shirt.

Last Wednesday my husband had to go for a business trip to NYC. When he returned I was interested how he had spent a free weekend. My husband just replied with the words “vinyl wraps nyc”. I had no idea what he was talking about. He explained that that was nothing else than changing the colour and overall look of his car. As a female, I was not able to think of the worst plan for the weekend. But when I was looking at my husband’s enthusiasm , I realized how much in common we have.

It doesn’t matter if you are man or woman – like small changes, surrounding ourselves with nice looking things. And both men and women care about things they like – women always confirm that their favourite blouse is always washed at the proper temperature so that its colour won’t be faded.
